This is one of Japan’s three largest morning markets. It is said that this market dates back to the Heian period. You can enjoy this bustling market until noon. Most of the vendors here are women, following an old tradition. There is also a workshop located within the market where the special Wajima lacquer-coated chopsticks are being made. Suzu Cape, often referred to as “Sanctuary Cape”, is considered one of Japan’s three most important spiritual power spots, alongside Mt. Fuji and Nagano Prefecture’s Bungui Pass. The Noto area is abundant in different kinds of pufferfish, also known under its Japanese name “fugu”. Don’t miss a chance to try this famous dish for yourself if visiting Noto!

Noto Wine has a wine brewery on a hill with countless vineyards. It is also equipped with a gallery where you can visit to taste the wines. These wines are all brewed of Noto wine grapes, which were cultivated in the climate of Noto without any additives. Drop in to taste the real flavours of Noto.

Here you can learn more about the method of salt production used in the Noto Peninsula, Ishikawa Prefecture. The salt is harvested from sea water, and then produced through boiling it on high temperatures for around sixteen hours. Six hundred litres of sea water is able to produce around 120 kilograms of salt. It is also possible to buy several products here with the special boiled salt.

It is possible to go experience the harvest of several kinds of fruit and vegetables here. Apart from hands-on experiences with strawberry and grape-hunting, you can also try the farm’s local restaurant, which offers an abundant menu selection from locally grown vegetables. There is also a shop on the premises where you can enjoy gelato and soft cream and fresh products from the farm.

The Nagisa Driveway offers you the unique, fun experience of driving through a beach with your car, extending around 8 km on the shore. It is also possible to cycle through this sandy road. The Noto Kongo coastline spreads out for about fourteen kilometres. Since the Noto coastline is very photogenic, it is popular with both tourists and photographers who come here to capture the beautiful surroundings. The shoreline of Shiga is corroded by rough waves. You can approach the oldest, wooden, Japanese-style lighthouse (Old Fukura Lighthouse) by a pleasure boat.

You can find around forty thousand animals and five hundred species that inhabit the waters near Noto in this Aquarium. There are special attractions such as dolphin and sea lion shows, otter feeding, and other activities where guests can get in close contact with the animals.
