Embark on a scenic sightseeing adventure on the Shogawa Pleasure Boat! There is a lot to see while sailing on the Shogawa river, including the Omaki onsen, which is a hot spring facility only accessible by boat. With the changing of the seasons, you can enjoy a different landscape: all equally beautiful.

This dance and festival has been kept as a tradition for over three hundred years. You can watch this ethereal dance to traditional music on the streets of Yatsuo in Toyama. In the Tourist Centre of the town, you can take a look at the festival floats, and they hold a stage performance of the Owara Kaze no Bon twice each month as well for visitors. The Suwamachi Hondori is a road preserved in its Edo-period glory, with the power lines buried under ground to preserve their appearance. It is a charming experience to walk down on this road, and get a taste of how the real Edo period might have looked like.

Watch this traditional festival performance with huge Yotaka lanterns that „fight” and collide with one another in the procession. The lit up festival floats appear to have come from another world with the abundant red and orange light-up. Each district has its own lantern, with a different design. The main purpose of this festival is to ask for a good year in harvest. Another breathtaking experience that you shouldn't miss!

Nosaku was founded over a hundred years ago, and at the time of its foundation in 1916 it was mostly occupied with manufacturing tea sets, vases, and Buddhist ritual objects. Since then, the company has branched out to produce a wide variety of objects, including home accessories, cutlery, and even jewelry. You can also create your own original tin item, such as a paper weight, sake cup, or a tray, which you can take home with you. There is also a restaurant on site, with a special set menus, set on stylish tin tableware.

Taikoyama Land, built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Toyama Prefecture, at 1.18 million square meters is the prefecture’s largest park. Full of greenery and water, it is a great spot to relax while enjoying fresh air and nature. Multiple outdoor sport and playground facilities allow also for more active ways to spend the day. During summer, you can seek refuge from the heat at the park’s pool area. Among the park's highlights is also a train, which you can use to move around the vast grounds. Thanks to its appearance, reminiscent of an old steam locomotive, it is especially popular among children.

This modern art museum fuses design with art, exhibiting many Japanese and foreign artists. Apart from the exhibitions, they also offer hands-on experiences for visitors who can learn more about and participate in art first-hand.

Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route spreads for 90 kilometres across The Northern Japan Alps. It travers through an elevation change of 2400 meters, displaying a wide-range of beautiful sights along the way. Admire the majestic snow walls and explore how the scenery changes with each altitude! When accessed from the Toyama side, the journey starts at Tateyama Station, takes you through the mountain range using a variety of vehicles, including Tateyama Ropeway and Tateyama Cable Car, to finally finish at Ogizawa Station, located in Nagano Prefecture.

Gokayama is a registered world heritage site, for its remarkable architecture that preserves the way traditional Japanese houses were built in the area. The special houses are called Gassho-style houses, with a special roof that is designed to bear the heavy snowfall over the winter period. Apart from going around in the town, you can also experience the making of traditional Japanese paper, or washi.

The Tonami Tulip Fair is a big scale flower festival, boasting approximately 3 million flowers of 700 different varieties and a myriad of colours. Held annually in spring on the premises of the Tonami Tulip Park, its concept changes every year, allowing guests to enjoy it afresh each time. Outside of the festival, you can visit the Tonami Tulip Gallery, which showcases tulip flowers indoors around the year. It also includes a museum where you can learn about tulips in general and their cultivation.
