Night Fishing

Takiya-ryo is a fishing method unique to the Hamana Lake. It is possible to board these fishing boats and catch your own fish from them with guidance. There is a possibility to cook the seafood you caught yourself on the Takiyai-tei, a boat on the lake. The boatman will prepare the food for you, ready to eat right there! This experience is right outside your hotel room: you can board from the front of the hotel. Available period: from mid-May until the end of September)

Ryotanji
Approximately 35 minutes by car from the hotel
The Ryotanji is a zen-temple which was founded in the eighth century. The building has significant historical as well as architectural value: it features the nightingale floor planking method, which was used as a security feature. The dragon found in the main temple was sculpted by renowned artist Hidari Jingoro. Designated a national site of scenic beauty, the temple is equipped with a beautiful garden. Recently, this temple has gained popularity by getting the spotlight in a hit drama “Ii Naotora.”

Nukumori Mori – “Warm Woods”
Approximately 20 minutes by car from the hotel
Enclosed by tall trees, dotted with houses reminiscent of the European Middle Ages we know from tales, it seems like you got dropped into the middle of a fairy tale when you visit this place. With restaurants, cake shops, grocery stores, and cafés in the heart of these woods, you can fully explore this wonderland, famous for its magical atmosphere.
